Studies have shown that beer is good for your bones and helps prevent osteoporosis, but it depends on the type of beer consumed.
Apparently, regular consumption of beer helps to strengthen bones, thus preventing cracking in their later years. This is why the beer is an important source of silica which improves bone mineral density.
Experts say that beer is one of the main sources of silicon in living – nearly half the silicon in beer can be absorbed into the body. According to medical research, silicon is very important for the development of the skeletal system in the body so that the authors of the study believe that moderate consumption of beer can and facilitate the treatment of osteoporosis.
The University of California experts analyzed hundreds of commercial beers after it concluded that most silicon has a beer with malt and hops. The brighter and less beer, the better because it contains more silicon. Dark and strong beers have much silicon as made from barley that was previously fried. Wheat beer has even less silicon because the wheat contains less than barley.
